January 1
First Day Hike

Join park staff at Dead Horse Point State Park on a hike commemorating the first day of the new year! Depending on conditions and participant desire, expect a hike lasting anywhere from one to two hours traveling a couple miles over easy terrain. Snow and ice may make this a moderately difficult hike. Participants should dress warmly, bring a couple liters of water, bring polarized sunglasses and whatever they need to feel comfortable walking in snow. The hike will start at 9:00am.

Free Movie: MAYA ANGELOU: AND STILL I RISE

The Library is pleased to partner with the Moab Valley Multicultural Center for a free screening of Maya Angelou: And Still I Rise. The film is the first feature documentary about the remarkable writer, poet, actress, and activist May Angelou. The documentary is 114 minutes long and not rated. Stay for a post-film discussion! Spanish Valley Vineyards host an evening of Australian Didgeridoo and African Drumming with Randin Graves and Annette Kearl
Spanish Valley Vineyard & Winery is proud to be hosting a musical event featuring the Australian Didgeridoo with Randin Graves and African Drumming with Annette Kearl. The two day event starts Friday evening, at Star Hall, from 7-9pm. Randin will present a personal history of the Australian Didgeridoo, it is a fun educational and inspiring show that will open with a 30 minute presentation of multicultural drumming wit Annette Kearl. Moto Mayhem was created with the sole intention of bringing an affordable, family-orientated, "Enduro-X" style racing series to the community in which we thrived. I believe as racing parents; we are directly responsible for the next generation of caring and respectful children and racers. It is my passion to help as many kids as possible share the experiences of dirt bikes and racing. I also strongly believe that when a child is shown how a caring, community-driven group of people interacts with one another, they are more likely to become a productive part of the same and other communities. Arches Ultra
Arches Ultra is Moab’s newest trail race, and it travels along the border of Arches National Park, using Bar M, Klonzo, and Klondike Trail Systems. Moab Rocks 3-Day mountain bike race
Moab Rocks takes some of the regions best classic and new routes including Klondike, Porcupine Rim and Mag 7 and combines them into a 3-day xc masterpiece in a fully supported format. All this wrapped up in a fun and friendly atmosphere, combining camaraderie and competition. TransRockies Events pioneered Mountain Bike Stage Racing in North America with the TransRockies Challenge in 2002, and the 3-day race format with the TR3 starting in 2009. Scott Enduro Cup Moab
Moab is an iconic mountain biking destination that boasts endless desert riding, incredible mountain vistas and technical slickrock terrain. Round 1 of the 2017 SCOTT Enduro Cup is a human powered single-day season kickoff where the strongest, and as history tells, most seasoned riders tend to take home the win. The Moab trails provides variable terrain of slickrock, wooded, sand and dirt sections that feature naturally banked, rock-paved bench cuts and fast technical descents. Desert RATS Kokopelli 150
Racers will run from Grand Junction, Colorado to the world famous Moab, Utah along the beautiful 148-mile Kokopelli trail. Distances will range from day to day between 9 and 42 miles. This is a grueling event that will challenge the most seasoned athletes yet it is designed so that less experienced ultrarunners can train for and successfully complete the course. ​Moab Pride Festival is creating queer visibility while providing accessible LGBTQIA programming and safe spaces for the community. The Dead Horse 50 mile, 50k and 30k will be on November 18th. Dead Horse was created to feature the Magnificent Seven Trails off of Gemini Bridges. The course will challenge you with technical slickrock and sandy washes and has great views of Arches National Park, the La Sal Mountains and the Moab Valley.
